Catch up post

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

Boy the last few days have flown by! School has started down here, at least for the teachers, so it's been a busy 3 days of introductions, cleaning, organizing materials and setting up my classroom. I am slowly getting things done, so tomorrow, I'll finish off with the things I already have at school and work on schedules before I add all my own materials from home to the mess. I have not stitched at all since the weekend, but I'm craving a little TV and stitching time now, so I think that's where I'm headed.

Cheers

Happy Dance at last!

Thursday, August 7, 2008

Well I have FINALLY completed ornament number 4. (Yes that would be the one I started in April.) I definately subscribe to the theory of better late than never:) At some point I will post a pic, but not now. (Another better late....)
Today has been a wonderfully stitchy, lazy, computery day:) I'm about to go pick out my next ornament for my rotation, (which doesn't actually exist - I just work on whatever I feel like.) However, I do have a couple of other pieces which are screaming my name, and if you've ever heard a piece of linen scream, you know how painful it can sound! lol
So I'm off to get my next orny and continue to stitch until DH gets home.

Cheers

Moving Day ... But Not For Me!

Wednesday, August 6, 2008

What a day! It got up to 106 and there we are packing a U-haul. Talk about sweating. I think I lost 10lbs in water weight easily! (If only it would stay lost, lol) But that's my brother, SIL and darling baby nephew packed up and heading back to Canada. I totally hate the INS. However, they seemed in good spirits, and DB has a job lined up, and they have a place to live, so I suppose it could be worse. I just wish I could have spent more time with the baby. I've only been down here about 6 weeks, and off they go. Ah well. Such is life.
Since I'm totally worn out, I think I'm going to head to bed. I need my rest because tomorrow is a total stitching day:) Haven't had one of those in a while!

Cheers

Better Late than never!

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

Seems like time has escaped me yet again. I wonder if it's an age thing:) Anyways, thanks so much to Dani for this wonderful and greatly appreciated award. (They like me, they really like me!) We have known each other ever so long, and I so miss having you close by. Now to follow the directions, as best I can of course.

1 Put the logo on your blog
2 Add a link to the person who awarded you
3 Nominate at least 7 other blogs
4 Add links to those blogs on yours
5 Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs.

Now for the nominations. I think I know 7 other blogs.

Stitching and Life in the Company of Pets - A wonderful blog I get to read, even if I don't comment often.

Mindi from What's Up With Wyora? - Although she hasn't been on in a while, I've always loved her blog, and her taste in online games:)

GailR from Knitting in My Corner - You've always commented on my blog, and at least made me feel like someone was reading it. Thank you:)

Jennifer from Sweet Pea Stitches - Another blog I don't leave comments on, but one I check frequently to see some wonderful stitching. I also love the layout of your blog Jennifer, and have gotten some great ideas from it. Thanks!

Emily from The Floss Box - This is such a versatile blog. So many crafting ideas, and I love them all. Thanks Emily!

And of course my bestest friend Dani from Dani... Black Belt Stitching Wizard - You must come visit some time and enjoy sun, sand and much seafood:) Love ya girl!

There you have it, my nominations. Not sure if I have 7 or not, but I think I'm pretty close.

Cheers
